Charity Concert 17th April @ Shire Hall

 Dear UKAO, Hi my name is Harry Kipling , of Kingston upon Hull Accordion Club , We have in this area 5 accordion clubs,LIncoln {lindum] - Hull - Sheffield - Barnsley - Wetherby ,,,but never seem to get together , so Ive found a venue more or less in the middle, HOWDEN J37 M62 . and I have booked the SHIRE HALL 1 mile from J32 M62 ,,,, very easy,,,,,its a very large hall for upto 200 and has a very big stage ,,,,,, I've already got: the following artists for the concert on tuesday 17th April 2007. Harry Hussey..........George Syrett...........Pearl Fawcett-Adriano............. Sam Pirt Also a really fantastic Banjo player called Bill Fables , hes just come back from New Zeland, playing,,,and,a few local groups, a good cross section of instuments and players. and already some interest from the clubs themselves . The charity is :- CANCER RESERCH -ALL THE PROFIT WILL GO TO THEM I hope to have a good turnout from these clubs . It is mainly to get together these local clubs ,, but if any one else is interested please let me know, the show starts at 7 pm, but I am opening about 4.30 pm,,, Harry and George said they would come early to give imformal tuition and sort out your problems, people can have a go on a big stage , if they want. There will be a buffet & bar ,trade stands, music for sale ,a place to show old accordions ,a raffle. Admission is just £6 Put this date in your diary please! AAMS Accordion Festival 2007, Philadelphia – USA

The American Accordion Musicological Society Accordion Festival takes place from March 2nd to 4th at the Valley Forge Inn in Valley Forge, Philadelphia.
The festivities begin with an exciting Cajun/Zydeco concert on Friday night featuring Ric Kaplan. Concert accordionist Lidia Kaminska will also appear on the concert. Saturday will feature the competition categories and various accordion workshops of great interest. On Sunday there is the presentation of awards and trophies, a performance by the Festival Massed Band, and performances by Mary Tokarski, Jim Vandelly, Rita Davidson, Tony Lovello, and Bobby Raye.
The Annual Dinner takes place at 5.30pm on Saturday evening where this year’s Honorees Stanley Darrow and Lenny Feldmann, known as ‘The Cordeen Man’ will be recognized. Following the dinner, this year’s featured guest artistes Tony Lovello and Vitaliy Pirog will take the stage. The festival also includes accordion displays, accordion repair seminars, accordion memorabilia, CDs, cassettes, videos, and sheet music.

The monthly French accordion magazine ‘Accordéon et Accordéonistes’ offers a wide variety of fully illustrated articles and information of interest to all accordion enthusiasts.
The cover for the February issue shows Pascal Hamard, one of the current stars of the French accordion scene. In the center of the magazine are detachable teaching articles in which Frédéric Deschamps and Jacques Mornet reveal each month the basis of their teaching methods, which constantly develop brilliant pupils. This month, the article is by Frederic Deschamps.
The 5 last pages of the magazine are entirely devoted to reviews of CDs, videos, DVDs, books, music, etc.
