Accordion in Jazz is the instrument of inexhaustible possibilities. The sound is springing up from beyond the heart. This is a blending what is happening. Accordion is a animal speakable and desiring to speak to you. It can take offence at you or inspire you, or to be impudent... Any instrument is alive if you put in your spirit.
Vladimir Danilin, Jazz accordionist
To learn jazz playing is difficult. It depends on improvising skills for the first hand and on wide rage sound mastering skills. You also should know how to swing. Presented works of jazz music are ready-to-play jazz works but let's remember Duck Elingthon's phrase: «improvise whatever you play». Jazz musician is a composer in such a way. Another jazz (swing) basis feature is «off beat» - each beat is coming a bit later.
It's useful to think of accordion while playing jazz as about an ensemble. Right hand leads melody (imagine that you play not on the accordion, but on the trumpet, saxophone, human's voice) while rhythm section (double bass, guitar and drum set) is your left hand. And at last the most important - play actively with real sound. Don't miaul on the accordion. Drive!
